Insight on Today's Quote
Epictetus is basically saying: real wealth isn’t the size of your wallet… it’s the size of your “I need this” list. A lot of money stress isn’t only about low income… it’s also about unlimited wants. When your wants keep expanding, even a bigger paycheck can feel “not enough.” But when you learn to want less on purpose, you start feeling rich faster, because peace is cheaper than lifestyle upgrades.
Step Up To The Challenge
Pick one “want” you were about to buy this week (online cart, food delivery, impulse item). Do this instead:
Delay it for 24 hours.
During the delay, move that same amount into a “Freedom Fund” (savings, emergency fund, debt payment, or investment).
After 24 hours, decide again—calmly. If you still truly want it, fine. If not, you just bought yourself peace.
Tiny win, big momentum.
